Access to Justice for Children

Just Rights for Children Project (FCRA) – Child Rights Justice Intervention Project, Delhi

  1. Child Marriage-Free India Campaign

  2. Child Trafficking

  3. Child Labour and Rehabilitation

  4. Child Sexual Abuse

Through the Child Rights Justice Intervention Project, Just Rights is working across India in collaboration with 419 social organizations. The initiative focuses on injustices and violence against children, child labour, and the enforcement of laws preventing child marriage, in coordination with both central and state governments.

So far, in Jalgaon district, this work has been carried out in 50 villages across five talukas in coordination with the respective Gram Panchayats. Awareness campaigns regarding the concept of “Child Marriage-Free Villages” have been implemented. As part of these campaigns, children from government and private schools were educated on the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, child labour, child sexual abuse, and trafficking.

Additionally, awareness rallies (prabhat feri) and street plays were organized in collaboration with village officials like Gram Sevaks, Sarpanches, Panchayat Members, Anganwadi Workers, ASHA Workers, and Police Patils. Posters with messages like “Do not support child marriage” and instructions to contact representatives from Aadhar Bahuuddeshiya Sanstha in case of such incidents were distributed. Stickers were also placed on village temples, schools, and Gram Panchayat buildings. People were informed that legal action, including punishment and fines, could be taken if child marriages are conducted.

Such activities, conducted with the participation of government officials and children, have led to better community awareness. As a result, the organization has received information about potential child marriages in some villages. In recent months, with the help of government officials including the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Tehsildar, police administration, and Gram Sevaks, 10 child marriages have successfully been prevented.
