The breakdown of the traditional joint family system due to issues like domestic violence, alcoholism, dowry, and marital conflicts has increased the need for counseling. To address this, the Family Counseling Centre (FCC) was started in 2000 with support from the Central Social Welfare Board.
FCC provides counseling, legal support, and referrals to families in crisis. It also conducts pre-marital counseling, college sessions, and awareness programs on issues like female feticide, legal rights, and women’s and girl child rights.
FCC Services Include:
Individual/group counseling
Conflict resolution
Legal and psychological support
Police/legal aid
Referrals to govt. and NGO schemes
