Surakshit Matrutva[AMPLI-PPHI] Project

The AMPLI-PPHI Maternal Health Services Project has played a significant role in improving maternal health and well-being across five sub-centers under the Vaijapur and Lasur PHCs in Jalgaon District and same at Nandurbar District in Dhadgaon Block in five sub-centers. The highlights of the project’s performance, challenges, and key learnings during the period from October 15, 2023, to till Date. The project began with landscape mapping of the intervention area and a deep-strike survey to gather baseline data.

The primary objective of the project was to strengthen health systems and partnerships, enhance community participation, and ensure essential Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services reach the tribal population. The interventions focused on antenatal care, institutional deliveries, community awareness, maternal and family counseling, strengthening referral services, stakeholder advocacy, quality assurance, and improvements in Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHND) sessions. The broader goals included increasing access to quality MCH services, reinforcing community-based interventions, building the capacity of healthcare providers, and promoting health-seeking behavior.
