Aadhar Aarogya Project

In Aadhar-Arogya slum intervention Project from Aug. 2021 in seven Slum areas of Amalner city, focuses on improving the health and well-being of women, Children and adolescents with a target population of around 26,700. The Project address the critical health issues such as maternal multi nutrition child nutrition, school health, and inadequate access to primary health services. The initiative builds on two years of previous work and builds the capacity of ‘Aarogya Mitra’ Local Health volunteers. Support the implementation, tracking and awareness-building efforts across the slum, ensuring sustainability through Community ownership and Digital tools like the MCH care App, sakhi chat bot.

Aadhar Aarogya project has demostrated a tangible shift in healthcare access and health seeking behavious with in underserved slums of of Amalner.

Key Activities

Mother Counseling: Focused on immunization, iron/calcium intake, hygiene, institutional delivery, and nutrition.
Adolescent Awareness: Sessions for girls and boys on health, hygiene, and gender issues.
Maternal Meetings: For pregnant and lactating mothers on care and nutrition.
Child Health Programs: Mental health sessions in schools.
Women’s Group Sessions: On health, hygiene, and empowerment.
Special Day Celebrations: Events like Women’s Day, TB Day, Mental Health Day, etc., to raise awareness.
Street Plays: Performed by students to promote awareness on child marriage and health topics.
